For Fiscal Year 2027 (FY 2027), Senator Andy Kim submitted funding requests for important community projects across the state of New Jersey to the Senate Appropriations Committee. These are known as Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) requests. Not every project may be funded as projects are restricted to a limited number of federal funding streams and only state and local governments, as well as eligible non-profit entities, are permitted to receive funding.

Senator Kim certifies that neither he nor his immediate family has a financial interest in any of the CDS items that he has requested in FY 2027. None of the entities for which Senator Kim has requested CDS funding for are for-profit entities.

The annual appropriations process is lengthy, with uncertain timing, and there is no guarantee that CDS requests will ultimately be included in the FY 2027 spending bills. Due to nuanced eligibility criteria and limited available funds, many requests will not move forward, and not all projects chosen to advance will ultimately receive funding.
