WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Andy Kim (D-NJ), Ranking Member of the Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee’s Disaster Management, D.C., and Census Subcommittee, released the following statement on the Trump administration’s dangerous plan to overhaul the 2030 Census:
“This rule is yet another attack on democracy by Donald Trump. An accurate census count is at the very foundation of ensuring equal representation across our country and delivering federal funds where they’re needed most. The Census is enshrined in our Constitution and not up for political debate. I will not stand for this attempt to silence diverse communities and use the Census as a mere pawn in a twisted crusade against our immigrant communities.”
