Trump’s Illegal Tariff Tax: Following President Trump’s announcement on Friday of new global tariffs, even after the Supreme Court ruled his sweeping tariffs illegal, this morning Senator Kim shared how he is working to hold the Trump administration accountable to giving the $134 billion they’ve taken in from these harmful tariffs back to the American people and small businesses who are hurting.
“This administration took money out of the pockets of American families, upwards of $1,700 per family. They should give it back. And we’re working on legislation that would be able to have this refund back to the American people.” WATCH
The American People Don’t want Another War:As President Trump continues to ramp up towards military action in Iran, Senator Kim made it crystal clear: this is not what Americans want, and it is not what is good for our country or the safety of our servicemembers.
“I worked in national security. I served as a civilian embedded with the military in Afghanistan. I worked in Iraq. I spent years trying to counter Iranian actions. So I see the threats that they have. But taking an action like this, what the president is ramping up towards…this is a buildup unlike anything we’ve seen since the 2003 Iraq War…I hear from [service members] families, they’re worrying about their sons and daughters being put into the middle of a war in the Middle East without an understanding of what we’re trying to achieve.” WATCH
Trump is Going into the State of the Union at the Weakest Point of His Presidency: Senator Kim outlined that as President Trump heads into the State of the Union weak and unpopular, the Senator and his colleagues are ready to use every tool in their tool box to show up for the American people and not just expose President Trump’s lies but show their vision for addressing working families’ biggest concerns.
“This is a president that is coming into a State of the Union at his weakest point in his presidency. He just suffered this major setback by the Supreme Court. The American people have turned against him so clear after what happened in Minnesota…This is going to be Donald Trump’s final State of the Union before a Republican controlled Congress.
